Travel to Latvia
At the crossroads between Northern and Eastern Europe, Latvia is a country that’s often overlooked. However, this little Baltic nation is a real hidden gem.
Latvia has over 500 kilometres of (mostly pristine) Baltic Sea coastline, with long stretches of golden sandy beaches fringed by thick pine forests. In fact, Latvia is one of the greenest countries in the world, with more than half of its total land area covered with forest.
Its lively capital, Riga, is cosmopolitan, fun, and packed full of interesting things to see and do.
Here you’ll find a beautiful medieval Old Town, loads of historical sights, great restaurants and bars, the largest market in Europe, and some of the best Art Nouveau architecture in the world.
Latvia is an ideal place to visit if you want to get a little off the beaten path and explore a different corner of the continent. It’s also a fairly cheap destination, at least by European standards.
