My Favourite Photos of England to Inspire Your Next Adventure
England is a place I’ve called home for most of my life. It’s familiar, yet endlessly surprising, and packed with contrasts.
From the dramatic cliffs of Cornwall to the rolling hills of the South Downs, the cobbled streets of York to the wild beauty of Northumberland, England’s landscapes are rich, varied, and timeless.
London is, of course, a highlight, with its iconic landmarks, world-class museums, and a cultural scene that’s second to none.
But I’ve always loved England’s quieter corners best. I grew up in Worcestershire, not far from the Cotswolds. It’s a sleepy, picturesque region that will always feel like home.
Honey-coloured cottages with wisteria trailing over their walls, village greens where cricket matches play out on summer afternoons, and pubs with roaring fires that welcome you after long walks.
The Lake District holds a special place in my heart, too. There’s something magical about its heather-covered fells, glistening lakes, and views that seem almost too beautiful to be real.
England’s history is everywhere. With its ancient cities like Winchester, Durham, Canterbury, and Exeter, medieval castles, and grand country estates, the country is steeped in layers of history.
Standing beneath the soaring arches of York Minster or exploring the Roman baths in Bath, you can’t help but feel connected to the past.
It’s the little things I miss most about England. A pint in a cosy pub, the scent of wildflowers on a summer’s day, or the stillness of a misty morning on the moors.
The photos below capture a glimpse of the England I know and love. The places that have stayed with me, the landscapes that take my breath away, and the details that make this country so uniquely special.
I hope they inspire you to explore England’s many faces and discover your own favourite corners.

📱 eSIMs
Airalo is my favourite travel eSIM provider – I’ve used it in over 10 countries and really rate it. So much easier than buying physical SIM cards when you travel!
🚑 Do I need travel insurance?
YES! Never travel without adequate travel insurance. It’s just not worth the risk.
• SafetyWing – if you’re a digital nomad like me, SafetyWing is super flexible and affordable. You can sign up for as little or as long as you want, and activate and deactivate it whenever you need to. I’ve made several claims in the last few years and thoroughly recommend this company.
• World Nomads – for adventurous travellers, covers 200+ activities that many other insurers won’t, such as skydiving, heli-skiing, rock climbing, rafting, scuba diving, cliff jumping, and kiteboarding (not available for residents of every country – check here).
💻 Do I need a VPN?
YES! Always use a VPN when using public WiFi (in airports, cafes, hotels, stations, etc.). This helps protect your personal information and also bypasses internet censorship and restrictions in certain countries. I use NordVPN and highly recommend it.
