My Favourite Photos of Croatia to Inspire Your Next Adventure
It’s no surprise that Croatia has become such a popular destination in recent years. From its shimmering Adriatic coastline to its ancient walled cities and spectacular national parks, this Balkan country has so much to offer.
The Dalmatian Coast is undeniably one of Croatia’s highlights. There are hundreds of little islands – some inhabited, some wild and empty – each with its own character.
Hvar is known for its glitz and glamour, with fancy bars, restaurants, and high-end hotels. But it’s easy to get off the beaten path, too, along this gorgeous stretch of the Mediterranean.
I love Korčula’s medieval charm and Vis’s quiet, untouched beauty.
And the mainland is just as spectacular.
Exploring Dubrovnik, with its iconic city walls and terracotta rooftops, genuinely feels like stepping into a storybook. There’s a reason they chose to film Game of Thrones here!
Split’s Diocletian’s Palace and the ruins at Salona offer an incredible glimpse into ancient Roman history.
Plitvice Lakes National Park, with its cascading waterfalls and turquoise pools, is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited.
Inland, you’ll also find rolling vineyards, traditional villages, and towering mountains that are perfect for hiking.
I love how accessible Croatia is, too. Buzzing cities, peaceful islands, historical treasures, and natural wonders are all within easy reach of each other.
The roads are excellent, and public transport is cheap, efficient, clean, and reliable. Things have been designed to be easy, and everything just works.
(Wouldn’t it be great if the UK was like that?)
Anyway, here are some of my favourite photos from my trips to Croatia – I hope you like them.

📱 eSIMs
Airalo is my favourite travel eSIM provider – I’ve used it in over 10 countries and really rate it. So much easier than buying physical SIM cards when you travel!
🚑 Do I need travel insurance?
YES! Never travel without adequate travel insurance. It’s just not worth the risk.
• SafetyWing – if you’re a digital nomad like me, SafetyWing is super flexible and affordable. You can sign up for as little or as long as you want, and activate and deactivate it whenever you need to. I’ve made several claims in the last few years and thoroughly recommend this company.
• World Nomads – for adventurous travellers, covers 200+ activities that many other insurers won’t, such as skydiving, heli-skiing, rock climbing, rafting, scuba diving, cliff jumping, and kiteboarding (not available for residents of every country – check here).
💻 Do I need a VPN?
YES! Always use a VPN when using public WiFi (in airports, cafes, hotels, stations, etc.). This helps protect your personal information and also bypasses internet censorship and restrictions in certain countries. I use NordVPN and highly recommend it.
